Begin your adventure at Marina Park, located downtown. This iconic park features a sandy beach, a beautiful open-air pavilion, and magnificent views of Lake Washington and Seattle. On a summer’s day, the waterfront serves as a swimming ground for families and the perfect place to get your toes wet.
From the park, set off on foot for a 30-minute walk to Carillon Point, a beautiful marina and boutique shopping center. Enjoy water views the whole way as you stroll down Lake Street. Along the route, you will pass multiple smaller parks and lake-access points, including David Brink Park, with a viewing platform extending into the water, and Houghton Beach Park, with public volleyball courts. Reward yourself when you reach your destination with an iced coffee from Beach House Bar + Grill.

Explore the Outdoors by Land or Water
If you are looking for some more outdoor fun in the sun, rent a stand-up paddleboard from Northwest Paddle Surfers. Vast Lake Washington can seem never-ending, so there’s plenty of space to splash around!
If a drier adventure is more your style, take a stroll through Juanita Bay Park and challenge yourself to find as many bird species as possible. The urban park is a bird-watching paradise, home to unique Pacific Northwest species, including the great blue heron and belted kingfisher. Listen to chirps from all the trees and play a game of "I-Spy" with the family.

After a long day of exploration, you deserve a drink! Sit in the outdoor dining area at Cactus for a delicious Mexican meal paired with the best mojito in town. The Southwest-inspired menu offers tapas (small plates for sharing) just right for a gathering with friends or family.

If you are visiting around the Fourth of July, it is impossible to miss the festivities occurring all day long! The beloved Old-Fashioned Downtown Parade starts at noon, beginning at Lakeshore Plaza and winding its way through the streets, spreading cheer to all as it passes. After the parade, gather with friends and family at Marina Park for a community picnic, local vendors, live music and a massive fireworks show at 10:00 p.m.
End the Day with a Friendly Game of Indoor Golf
A Washington favorite, Flatstick Pub combines mini-golf with craft beers for an experience you’ll never forget! Come test your putting skills on the nine-hole course, including obstacles such as water hazards and secret tunnels, all while enjoying the 27 brews on tap. Not only does Kirkland have the most moorage space, but Marina Park and South Dock offer your first three hours for free, and they are within walking distance to shops and restaurants. This is ideal for day-trippers who can make the most out of a quick jaunt on the water.
